The process always begins with a conversation.The conversation may begin with electronic communication but before the design process begins, I want to talk with you personally and if possible, I would like to see the space.

If we decide a custom design is necessary, I charge a $240 design fee that is collected at the start of the process and will be applied to the purchase price if the piece is commissioned. If I am not chosen to build the piece, the client will receive a full set of drawings. I generally use CAD to prepare drawing and the item can be viewed in 3D. Occasionally, if the piece is difficult to visualize on paper, I will build a quarter scale model at no additional cost.

Sometimes. a client will give me a picture of a piece and will ask for a variation or a modification of the piece. I don't consider this design work and there is no design fees in these situations.

    Once a design is agreed upon:
  • I prepare a written sales order with drawings
  • Customer returns signed proposal with a 50% deposit
  • Piece is scheduled for production
  • Customer receives written notification when production begins
  • customer is emailed weekly the status of piece
  • Prior to shipping, the 50% balance is collected
